Eastern Screech Owl

Ohio's smallest owl

 

The eastern screech owl can be found hiding out in parks, neighborhoods and the woods. Essentially found wherever trees are, these masters of camouflage hide out in tree cavities until nighttime. 

 

This screech owl, lovingly referred to as “Gertie,” was found residing in the front yard of a home in north Toledo.
