Highlighting extraordinary wildlife from around the world and their intriguing conservation stories through captivating photography, video, workshops, and powerful interpretation. This exhibit takes a multidisciplinary approach to combine science and art in a way that can benefit the community and our local ecosystems.

     Justin Grubb is a wildlife filmmaker, photographer, published writer, naturalist and co-founder of Running Wild Media. Justin earned his B.Sc. in Biology at Bowling Green State University and his Masters of Biology at Miami University in Ohio. With years of international wildlife field research and formal/informal teaching experience, Justin combines these two fields with media to enhance science communication. 

 

     Justin’s love for nature and passion for the outdoors has brought him to some of the most extreme habitats on earth to study and film critically endangered wildlife. Justin is currently traveling the country with his fiance and dog in their travel camper. 

 

     He is a 2017 Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leader, Term Member at the Explorers Club and a Nat Geo “Wild to Inspire” award winning filmmaker.

     Alex Goetz is a wildlife filmmaker and photographer, and co-founder of Running Wild Media, a film production company specializing in stories of wildlife and conservation. He has contributed to outlets such as National Geographic WILD, BBC, PBS Nature, CBS Sunday Morning, and was a winner of the National Geographic WILD "Wild to Inspire" film competition. 

 

     An Ohio native, some of his extensive travels have taken him from the countryside of Tasmania filming Tasmanian devils, to boating throughout the vibrant Marshall Islands, and road-tripping around four amazing African countries filming wildlife and conservation efforts. 

 

     Alex has been recognized as a 2019 Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leader, 2019 NAAEE 30 under 30, TEDxToledo 2017 speaker, and a 2013 graduate from Bowling Green State University, with a degree in Film Production and Environmental Science.

Workshops

Photography

This workshop will go over the basic settings and equipment needed for wildlife photography as well as techniques to getting the best photographs.

Videography

Introduces the differences between taking videos of wildlife and taking photos. It will explore the techniques and the equipment needed.

Interpretation

For individuals interested in learning about storytelling and how to use videos and images in a way to tell a unique story about the wildlife.

Virtual Programs

A series of virtual programs including an intro to Planet Indonesia, Red Wolf Conservation, Beyond the lawn and more.

Running Wild Media
